Just before the winter break, a new brochure, "Know
Your Rights", was distributed by CNTA. It is a valuable, handy resource for
all unit members. Much time and effort was put into making contractual, legal
and Board policy information on such topics as classroom visitations, your
rights at a disciplinary conference, reporting of child abuse, and abusive
behavior toward employees available in a concise, easy to read, readily
available format. Every member should have immediate access to the "What To
Do In a Difficult Situation" information. Sometimes the amount of material
in your boxes is overwhelming. But PLEASE, PLEASE READ this information.
THEN put this brochure in a place where you will be able to find it in case you
need it. The Association and Board have established these policies and/or
contract language to protect you, but they are of no value if you do not read
them and follow them.
This brochure is available at the CNTA office if you misplaced or did not receive the one that was distributed.
