Just before the winter break, a new brochure, "Know Your Rights", was distributed by CNTA. It is a valuable, handy resource for all unit members. Much time and effort was put into making contractual, legal and Board policy information on such topics as classroom visitations, your rights at a disciplinary conference, reporting of child abuse, and abusive behavior toward employees available in a concise, easy to read, readily available format. Every member should have immediate access to the "What To Do In a Difficult Situation" information. Sometimes the amount of material in your boxes is overwhelming.  But PLEASE, PLEASE READ this information. THEN put this brochure in a place where you will be able to find it in case you need it. The Association and Board have established these policies and/or contract language to protect you, but they are of no value if you do not read them and follow them.
