MORE TAXES TAKEN OUT!

The State of California, in an effort to increase their cash flow, is accelerating the receipt of State income tax dollars.  You received a notice with your September paycheck that, as of November, the State is requiring employers to take an additional 10% of your State income tax and deposit it with the State.

This means that, if your regular State income tax is $100, you will now pay $110, accelerating your payment of State income tax.

This decision was made by the State, not the district.  The district was sent the new tax withholding table and was instructed to make the changes in payroll starting November 1, 2009.  Obviously, for teachers, this will show up in your November 30 check.
